Using FishaCat Live means agreeing to these terms.

By accessing or using this website, its maps, dashboards, forms, livestream links, or other services, you agree to these Terms of Use and the applicable Privacy & Youth Safety notice. If you do not agree, do not use the site or submit information through it.

PURPOSE & AUTHORITY

Calm context, not official authority.

FishaCat Live is an independent weather-information and community-awareness service. It is not part of, sponsored by, endorsed by, or affiliated with NOAA, the National Weather Service, FEMA, any emergency-management agency, any utility, or any government body. FishaCat Live personnel are not acting as emergency responders, public officials, meteorologists on behalf of the government, or utility representatives.

Analysis, summaries, dashboards, livestream commentary, briefings, and practical guidance are informational and educational. Official warnings, forecasts, orders, and instructions remain controlling.

WEATHER & OPERATIONAL DATA

Weather information can change, fail, or arrive late.

• Official-source data may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, corrected, superseded, or geographically imprecise.
• Maps and location tools may contain positioning, boundary, geocoding, radar, forecast, outage, or display errors.
• Community damage and outage reports may be preliminary, unverified, duplicated, outdated, or inaccurate.
• Forecasts and outlooks describe uncertainty and are not guarantees of what will occur at a particular location.
• Internet delivery is not guaranteed. Never rely on this website as your sole warning method.

LOCAL DASHBOARD NOTIFICATIONS

Notifications are optional and delivery is not guaranteed.

When a user enables Local Dashboard notifications, FishaCat Live stores the browser’s private push subscription, the selected dashboard coordinates and label, NWS zone identifiers, alert preferences, and delivery records needed to prevent duplicates. These records are not public and are used only to operate the requested notification service.

• Notification permission must be granted by the user on each device.
• Users may update preferences or delete that device’s subscription from the Local Dashboard at any time.
• Expired browser subscriptions may be disabled automatically.
• Browser, operating-system, Internet, source-data, and geographic matching failures can delay or prevent delivery.

FishaCat Live notifications supplement, but never replace, Wireless Emergency Alerts, NOAA Weather Radio, local emergency notification systems, or instructions from public-safety officials.

ACCEPTABLE USE

Do not interfere, deceive, endanger, or abuse.

You may use the public website for lawful personal, educational, journalistic, community-preparedness, and emergency-awareness purposes. You may not:

• submit knowingly false, misleading, impersonated, fabricated, defamatory, threatening, unlawful, or spam content;
• claim that FishaCat content, community reports, or modified government information is an official government product;
• use automated access in a manner that disrupts the site, evades rate limits, burdens upstream public services, or attempts unauthorized access;
• upload malicious code, probe security controls, scrape private areas, harvest personal information, or interfere with another person’s use;
• use the site to coordinate unsafe storm chasing, enter restricted areas, cross floodwater, interfere with responders, or encourage dangerous conduct;
• reuse FishaCat branding in a way that implies sponsorship, authorization, certification, partnership, or endorsement.

Access may be limited or blocked when reasonably necessary to protect users, records, service availability, or public safety.

COMMUNITY SUBMISSIONS

You are responsible for what you report.

By submitting a damage report, outage report, application, message, link, description, photograph reference, or other material, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge, that you have the right to provide it, and that it does not violate another person’s privacy, safety, copyright, or other rights.

You retain ownership of original content you submit. You grant FishaCat Live a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, review, verify, moderate, reproduce, format, publish, display, and distribute that content only as reasonably needed to operate, document, improve, and communicate the FishaCat Live service. You may request removal, but copies may remain where retention is required for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute records, backups, or content independently shared by others.

FishaCat Live may reject, withhold, edit for clarity or privacy, label, correct, archive, or remove submissions. Submission does not guarantee publication, verification, response, emergency assistance, or forwarding to any government agency or utility.

MEDIA, VIDEO & REUSE PERMISSION

Ask before reproducing or rebroadcasting FishaCat Live.

Unless FishaCat Live gives prior express written permission, you may not reproduce, rebroadcast, restream, simulcast, mirror, download and repost, publicly perform, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create a competing presentation from FishaCat Live livestreams, recorded videos, audio, original graphics, branded maps, briefings, written commentary, or other original site content. This restriction includes full programs, substantial excerpts, compilations, and use that could suggest FishaCat Live is represented by, affiliated with, or endorses another person, channel, organization, product, or cause.

Limited linking and ordinary personal sharing of the original FishaCat Live page or official video link is welcome. Quotation and other uses permitted by applicable law remain subject to applicable legal rights, but must not misrepresent the source, alter safety context, or imply endorsement.

Permission may be granted for uses that fit the FishaCat Live mission and community standards. Approval is discretionary, limited to the specific use described, and may include credit, context, duration, platform, editing, monetization, or revocation conditions. Email fishacat@fishacatlive.com with the subject Content Use Permission Request. Include the exact content, intended excerpt, platform, audience, purpose, editing plan, and whether the use will be monetized. No permission exists unless it is confirmed in writing.
